Bob Mackie's Embroidered 3/4 Sleeve Button Front Linen Jacket 4.2 5 6 6
Not a good fit for me I usually order size Large, but when I tried this on, it was very boxy on me. Too much material and I wasn't certain if going down a size would help. Maybe good on some shapes, just not for me. Cute styling with the proper fit. 07-16-13
Very nice I sized up (sm to med) to allow for possible shrinkage. The med is a tad large; however, I'd rather have room to move. Sad to say I had to return this because the button was in the bottom of the bag. I could have sewn the button on but there was a problem with the matching crops (leg seam wasn't sewn properly) & I had to return the pants. This outfit was to be worn this Fri to a 65th b-day party (guests are asked to dress in @ least 1 clothing item that's black). I know I wouldn't receive a new order or replacements by Fri. I'm between a sm. & med in his pants & I ordered the small which fit perfectly. So one could sz down, depending on where the tummy weight is carried. DEFINITELY a nice outfit - jacket & pants. 07-16-13
Love this I host a mother/daughter tea every May and wore this with the matching capri pants in blk. This jacket/outfit is comfortable and dressy looking. I wore it with a white floppy hat and had compliments all day. It is well made and made me look great! I haven't washed it yet so can't comment on that. Did require light ironing. But to be expected with linen. I love it and felt pretty in it. 05-20-13
Sharp Looking I just received this jacket and the matching pants. I was looking for a black summer outfit for Arizona. Love this jacket. Plan on wearing it to our evening Easter Vigil service. It is dressy enough for that evening service. 03-04-13
I am SO, VERY sorry, Bob this is true This is a cute blouse, however this is not worthy of Bob Mackie. I could have made an exact copy of this blouse in an hour. It has 4 pieces to it: front, back, sleeves and collar. There aren’t even shoulder pads which if I had made it I would have put in and it does call for it. For one thing it is called a jacket, but the fabric has no body to it and is more suitable for a blouse than a jacket. Because the fabric is thin, it should have shoulder pads to fill out the hips and cover the fact that there is absolutely no shape to it. The side seams are straight up and down. It does have some very nice embroidery to it, but that is machine done and does not make up for the deficits in this one. But keep in mind that this is rare for Bob Mackie and everybody is allowed some down time and go easy. But this is not worth buying. I have so many of his jackets that have more than 8 designer touches to them. This one has none. The only shape to it is a bust dart. Now, Bob, I am so, so sorry because in the more than 10 years that I have been buying your clothes, I have NEVER given you fewer than 5 stars and certainly not 2, but I’m afraid this is just not up to your standards. But don’t misunderstand, I am not leaving you. You are still the best designer known to man in my humble opinion and I have studied designing, designers, and have been a seamstress for more than 40 yrs so I know where of I speak. I will never, EVER, stop buying your clothes, but this is not worthy of you and also is not worth the price. The sleeves are just set-in sleeves and are straight down, not even any slits. The collar is just a shirt collar and even that doesn’t have the firm interfacing that a collar would call for. I am really sorry Bob, but I have to be honest and this is just not worthy of you. I’d love to keep it, just because it’s yours but it’s not worth the money and I can use the money to buy another color of the many jackets that are not only worthy of 5 stars but are in a whole different class; the ones that have the many designer touches and pockets. See the examples of the real Bob Mackie 10 star jackets in the examples below this review. So to be honest people, don’t waste your money on this particular Bob Mackie. Save your money on the ones that have 5 stars; like the one that has the suede accents, or the moleskins mandarin collar one. Buy those, not this. I’m sorry Bob, I am so very sorry, but I can’t keep this. Please forgive me. But I remain your still loyal fan that will never leave you and continue to buy only your clothes, Candy. 06-26-12
