Bob Mackie's Asymmetrical Swirl Embroidered and Sequin Jacket
MY FIRST QVC PURCHASE
AND ITS A DOOZY!!! I CANT BELIEVE I GOT THIS FOR UNDER $30..FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY..
Stiff and Boxy
Well made but the jacket is very stiff and boxy. Not a good value for me, unfortunatly
NICE LIGHTWEIGHT JACKET
First of all, the clearance price is an amazing bargain on this cute summer jacket. The sequins are matte and add just a soft shimmer to the pastel hue of the fabric. I ordered the robins egg blue and it is a lovely shade of pale teal. I plan on wearing this jacket with white tank and capris and it will also look great with jeans. This jacket would make a lovely Easter top if you want to shop early and save bunches. It would also be great to wear to a summer wedding or baby shower.
WOW, great summer jacket
I bought this jacket in lilac and can hardly wait to wear it. So lovely! I bought a small and it fits nicely.
Not best purchase
The jacket is beautiful. The cut is too boxy. Had to send it back.
The jacket design is truly lovely, but the fit seems to be off a bit...I don't like the way the back looks. I'm keeping the jacket though...I do like the material and the design...very classy. I purchase quite a bit from Bob Mackie, I find his clothing line to be extremely sheek and his clothing never goes out of style. I have tons of his jackets...I just enjoy wearing them w/jeans, really dresses up the look. I wish Mr. Mackie would make pants to go w/all his jacket....I love suit dressing. Pants w/this jacket would have been nice especially w/the camel and gray jackets...I would have purchased both sets.
Keep up the great work Mr. Mackie....I adore you and your clothing line!!! I swear your clothing line is the meaning of "classy"!!!
Recommend because of fabric and embroidery
Yes indeed this is pique fabric, my favorite fabric for a jacket; but I am sorry again, but I can’t give this 5 stars. So far this is the 4th jacket he’s made without pockets and I know they don’t all have to have pockets, but the blossom jacket had princess seams and would certainly have been perfect for pockets and didn’t have shoulder pads but was fully lined and I have never known him to line a jacket without putting shoulder pads under it. Now this one that does not have princess seams and no shaping at all, and also has no shoulder pads and really calls for it. Also, whoever is naming the colors are sometimes off a little but are lately so completely off that it’s becoming a problem. For instance this one in the robin’s egg blue shows in the picture a blue but it is not blue at all, I mean no blue in it. It is actually a pale mint green. The blossom jacket that was called blue is also not a blue but more of a pale violet. Now again, this jacket is really pretty, but the fit isn’t quite right. I know I have always defended him on the fit because he can’t possibly know what fit to make to please all, but in this case; I mean that the 3x was way too big for me as would be usual as 3x is usually too big but the 2x is not just a size smaller but seems to be way smaller., but that may be me, so I’m not counting that in the problems. I just don’t understand why after all the jacket with 8 or more designer touches that I could barely count them, now have barely 1-2. The fabric is nice and I call the embroidery as a nice designer touch as he has it swirl around to the back hip, which was a nice touch. But other than that, just like the linen jacket, this one has a front, back and sleeves, with only bust darts for shaping. Now the facing is bound which is very well made but other than the embroidery this is not a typical Bob Mackie jacket. I’d love to keep it, but it’s the same color as the mint green blossom jacket and is also pique just like the blossom jacket. So there really is no reason to keep this. There are no pockets, there is no shaping but is boxy and straight up and down. Now don’t misunderstand, I will never leave you, Mr Mackie, and will continue to buy nothing but Bob Mackie clothing. I believe that soon we will start to see the kind of Bob Mackie jackets and pieces such as the moleskin mandarin collar jacket, and the grommet jacket and othernkind of jackets we are used to seeing; but in the meantime I can’t in all honesty give this 5 stars. But because it’s made beautifully, is made out of pique, and the embroidery is done beautifully and designed beautifully, I’m giving it 4 stars. But again, I am so sorry. Don’t think I am turning on you, and please don’t be mad at me, please. But this is the way I see it. I’m really sorry. However, I remain your number 1 fan, the Bob Mackie queen, Candy
This is a lightweight little summer jacket that you can think of in the same way you'd think of a really nice shirt. For those of you who are already Bob Mackie fans, you'll recognize the fabric as his crisp, yet soft, cotton pique. I ordered it in the gray. It's a pale, silvery dove's breast shade. Totally elegant! Bob Mackie's sizing is among the most dependable I know of and this is no exception. I ordered my usual medium and if fits exactly as I expected. You'll love this versatile little piece over a swirly white silk skirt or palazzo pants for a summer evening event, with a tailored skirt or pants for work or popped on with jeans for a little jazz as you go out to lunch or a shopping trip around town.
