Rated 3 out of 5 by PRETTY BUT NOT AS BLUE This is a very nice ring but I am somewhat disappointed in the color. It is not as blue as it looked during the presentation. I will send this one back and try another one. 09-11-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by Original October Birthstone When I was a child, and birthstone rings were popular, October's stone was called a rose zircon. My sister's December birthstone was blue zircon. Of course, we had no idea what a zircon was. In more recent times, they have been replaced by different pink and blue stones. I was given two costume rose zircon rings as a child that were of a deep pink with violet flashes. To me, they were magical. When I saw this ring presented, I decided I wanted my original birthstone as a "real" gem for sentimental reasons. It is not the cooler pink tone I remember, but more of a deep rosy blush shade. However, each time I have worn it, someone asks me what it is because it is so unusual. The stone has such clarity and flashes of light, and the diamonds that surround it are quite pretty too. I only wish I could afford the blue one for my sister! 05-08-16
