FAQs

Q: How often do I need to recharge my 700 Peak AMP jump starter?
A:
You should recharge your jump starter 24–48 hours immediately after purchase and after every use. It's also recommended to recharge every 30–60 days for approximately 12 hours, or until the battery status indicators show full when it is not in use.

Q: How do I recharge my jump starter?
A:
Simply connect a household extension cord into the AC charging adapter on the unit to begin charging. Unplug the extension cord when the charging indicator LED is solid green or blinking green.

Q: How do I know when my jump starter is fully charged?
A:
Your unit is fully charged when all LED indicators illuminate and the green LED is lit or flashing.

Q: What happens if I connect my jump starter up backwards/reverse?
A:
It's very important to review the safety warnings in the instruction manual before you use your jump starter. Be advised that your jump starter should be in the "OFF" position when first connecting it to the battery.

If you connect the power station incorrectly, you'll hear an audible reverse polarity alarm and see a visual indicator. Disconnect the jump starter immediately. Reversing the polarity of a jump starter that is in the "ON" position upon connection may cause irreparable damage and will void the product warranty.

Q: What's the difference between a jump starter and a battery charger?
A:
A jump starter is a product with an internal portable battery and with attached jumper cables. It must be recharged after each use. It can boost a vehicle without the need of another vehicle or being plugged into household AC power. Conversely, a battery charger has no battery and must be plugged into household AC power to function.

Q: Why don't the LED indicators illuminate when I press the battery status button?
A:
You may need to press the battery status button for several seconds to display the battery status indication. Further, if the jump starter has not been properly maintained and is completely depleted, the indicator lights may not illuminate.

Q: Why isn't there any output to the clamps?
A:
The power switch must be turned "ON." This jump starter has several safety features, including an "ON/OFF" power switch that helps to prevent sparking or arching until a proper connection is established.

Rated 1 out of 5 waste of money This item isn't worth the money! I Inflator does not work the only good this product is useful for is recharging your battery and that only if the charge hold. Don't waste your money! 02-07-15
Rated 1 out of 5 by Didn't Work For Me My battery was dead today. No worries, I thought. I had just charged up the jump starter. Hooked it up, turned it on, tried to start the car, and nothing. Didn't work. Glad it was during the day in a safe place. I may use the air compressor, but I will not rely on this for starting a battery again. 12-30-14
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not impressesd I got two of these last year and I'm not at all impressed. I've tried several times to jump start my cars with it and it has never worked. Neither one worked. That was my main reason for getting it. The inflator and other functions work fine but again I needed the jump start function more. Would not recommend. 09-01-14

Rated 5 out of 5 by saved the day, I bought this on a whim didn't think I would really need this. then one day my niece and her fiancé were out and his car died she was frantic and I was able to save the day . got their car started and they were able to get to the store to get a new battery. 05-14-14
Rated 1 out of 5 Didnt work Sad to say the tire pressure didn't work. It was reading 120 psi and I even had my neighbor test it just in case I was doing something wrong and it read the same thing with him. This needs to be fixed so it can be a successful sale but sadly I will be returning. 02-24-14
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very disappointed Received this just in time for my flat tire. I bragged how I was not concerned as I knew I could use my new Black & Decker inflator. My husband turned the knob to the "on" position and the knob broke off on the first use. Returning for a refund, I don't want another one of this brand. Guess I'll try another brand. 02-22-14
Rated 5 out of 5 by Jump starter and inflater I was impressed with this product I bought for a Christmas present. My husband was ecstatic. 12-31-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by affordable peace of mind This unit is just so compact and easy to handle. The peace of mind of having the air compressor and the jump starting ability take a lot of the worry out of traveling alone and/or on lightly traveled roads. 12-28-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by Peace of Mind! Over the years I've frequently worried about my car having flat tires and a dead battery - well, those days are over. I received this item, charged it for 48 hours and then inflated all the tires on my car to the recommended psi. It was so easy! All I need to do is to remember to charge it after every use; and to charge it at least once a month when I'm not using it. The unit is compact and lightweight with a handy carrying case and after putting the tire inflation converter parts in the little pocket with a Velcro flap, there are no loose bits and pieces that can get lost. Of course I haven't needed to jump start my car - yet - but I fully expect it will be as easy to use for that as it was to inflate the tires. 12-07-13
