Rated 5 out of 5 by from Five stars from me!! Purchased in the Fall of 2015 and have used several times as both an upright and portable. Portable option is great for stairs and chairs and makes me want to try cleaning my car next. I did have an issue with not having suction in the upright mode, but it happened right after I took it apart to clean it, so I knew it was my error in putting back together. After looking at the troubleshooting tips I saw that I did put it back together incorrectly. After removing and putting back on I was back in business again. I actually only use 1 ounce of solution and usually skip the rinsing. Deep cleans the dirt and pulls up a ton of cat hair even after vacuuming well. The carpets are clean & soft when dry. The key to success is to not get the carpet too wet, so go easy on the solution. You can always go back over again if you think it needs it. For suctioning, pull the machine back very very slowly. I usually do 2 or 3 passes for suctioning and carpets are barely damp when done, only needing a fan and a few hours to dry. Have definitely recommended this to others - either with or without pets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Bissell!!! Amazing products. Have the Pet Lift Off. Have not used the lift off yet, but the machine is light weight, easy to use, and very effective. For some reason, it stopped spraying the solution and after trying all the tips, they sent me a new one. Back in love again. Also have their pet vacuum and love it as well. I will only buy Bissell from now on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use! I have three to four cats on an average. I clean the carpet about once a year, depending, to keep the carpet fresh. Most of what needs to be cleaned is the high traffic areas, but I do it all. The cats don't make that much mess, an occasional sick to the stomach or fur ball. I especially like the lift off canister for a spot treatment and cleaning the car, not having to use the whole machine, which is some cases not possible. I'm very happy with it and so is my friend that borrowed it to clean her carpet. I have been pleased with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Want to love it but... I have had this cleaner for less than 60 days. I bought it right before I got a puppy and we already have 2 dogs so I knew I would be using it a lot. I was able to clean the whole upper level of my home in a few hours and it was amazing! As of right now the floor cleaner works but the attachment has absolutely no suction. I can't even get it to suck water off a tile floor. There is a suction gate that says to clean regularly; for as much as I have used this machine already the screws to take that gate off are getting stripped. It started out great, but I need to be able to use this EVERY time the puppy has an accident and as of right now the detachable portion is useless to me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Expected More The reviews really talked up this machine so I was excited to get it, but once I started using it I was disappointed in some of the features. The water tank is to small. I'm used to my Hoover where I only had to fill the tank 1 1/2 times compared to about 4 or 5 times for a bigger room. Also, the cord is not as long as my Hoover I had. Disappointed in that aspect. But I must say it does clean very well. I like the advantage of the hand steamer being attached. Just very disappointed in the small water tank. ( It does leave big clumps of dirty link on the carpet, so you have to go around picking it up. Or wait until it dry's and vacuum the floor again. Again, my other machine just sucked it up into the tank)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great carpet cleaner This is a great carpet cleaner I would recommend it to anybody who's got carpet, pets or kids it is very good I had a Hoover at first was not a big fan of the hoover. I love the bissell and I don't mind cleaning because what the Hoover it was like I really wasn't cleaning the carpet as for the Bissell the double brushes pull up a lot of pet hair and it also works great on a two-year-old Play-Doh that was it ground into the carpet I tried with my first it did not come up but then I went over it with my Bissell and it came right out

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An issue or two but still 5 stars. After reading other's reviews I thoroughly vacuumed the carpeting in my office. Every inch was gone over at least twice. The machine was easy to set up although I wish it hadn't been designed so the screws needed to be put in at an angle. Awkward. Filled up the water reservoir and went to add the soap. Trying to measure exactly 2 ounces of soap wasn't easy since there was nothing provided to help. I wish Bissell would turn the cap of their carpet shampoo into a measuring cup. It would sure make things easier. I ended up using what I hoped was about a forth of the 8 ounce bottle that was included. Not a big deal, but one that could easily be remedied by Bissell. I read other people complaining that the machine was heavy and hard to carry. I had no problem and I'm not particularly strong. As soon as I began I noticed the carpet looking cleaner. Even when it was wet. Instructions are to make one back and fourth pass dispensing the cleaning solution and a second with the suction. I had the best results going over the area with two passes of the suction. When I was finished the carpeting looked great. I was really impressed. However the thing that impressed me the most was the HUGE amount of hair that came up. Yes, the machine left wads of hair on the wet carpet but they were easily picked up and I was happy that the machine pulled it up. The hair must have worked itself down when my vacuum left it behind. There was another surprise when I went to empty out the dirty water. I was horrified to see the black water and a layer of mud at the bottom. Seeing just how filthy it was I decided to go over the carpeting again. The second time around the used cleaning solution wasn't as filthy, but it was still dark with grime. I made a mental note to go over the carpeting a third time in the near future. I'm not a clean freak, but I vacuum weekly. Seeing the grime that came out of that carpet was sobering. Next I tackled the carpeting in a guest bedroom. It was heavily soiled and had a good many spots. One large spot had been there for several years and when I had COIT come out they advised me that they had done their best but couldn't remove it. When I cleaned the carpet I was once again appalled at how gross the used cleaning solution was. Happy to see that much coming out of my carpet, but also feeling a bit horrified. Thrilled to say that the carpeting came out looking like new. Every spot came out, including the one COIT claimed that they couldn't remove. I have no hesitation in recommending this machine. Be prepared to be surprised at the amount of grime it pulls up and don't skimp on pre-vacuuming. I wish Bissell had provided a way to measure the cleaning solution. I also wish that the container holding the dirty cleaning solution could be opened up. Rinsing it completely clean was a chore and it took two days of it sitting in the sunshine for all the water I couldn't shake out of it to evaporate. Even with those gripes, it still earns 5 stars from me.
