Rated 1 out of 5 by from Brutal. Parts break constantly This thing is brutal. Its sucks well and cleans fantastically but parts break at a ridiculous rate. I've had this thing for a year or so and I've got through countless belts and a wand. I've bought this thing twice now. I just broke another belt. Do I suck it up and buy another one? If Bissell would send me a bag of them I'd be happy. But at 10-20$ a pop this is insane. Should have bought the Dyson. I've directed people away from Bissell because of this. Don't cheap out on the small parts, don't be like GM...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good suction but a little bit heavy I was looking for a canister vacuum with a good suction on both rugs and hardwood floor to replace my old hoover, the bissell is very powerful but heavy to move around that's why I gave it three stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I shot myself in the foot with this purchase I was looking for some powerful vacuum for cleaning up unbelievable amount of fur after our husky. This vacuum has it. In fact it has so much power that it takes quite a bit of effort to push and pull the head on carpet. On top of that, the vacuum is heavy, especially with the motorized head on. I think I know what it means for the future: I will be doing the vacuuming for the rest of this machine's life. Other than that it has tremendous sucking power, I think our carpet has never be so clean.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality vacuum for the cost I have had this vacuum a little over a year and a half and have nothing but complaints! First it is awkward to maneuver and doesn't move very well when moving around large areas....feels like I am pulling around a cinder block. The suction is not the greatest as others have already mentioned. The one thing that is really frustrating is the belts on the head continuousily snap for no apparent reason. Never have I ever had to replace the belt on my old vacuum and this one being only 1.5, I have been through 3 belts in a month. Definetly something wrong there!! I wouldn't recommend spending your hard earned cash on a piece of garbage that will need constant repairs and headaches.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed We thought that we were purchasing a good product because of the Bissell name. It is heavy and awkward to use but the filters are my biggest complaint. We spend more time cleaning these and find this to be an annoyance. Never had to do this with any other vacuum I have owned in my life. Since the filters need to dry for 24 hours you are stuck if in the middle of cleaning and there is no suction. If I could get a refund I definitely would. Save your money people.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This product is not well made. The Bissell Model 1233C Vacuum has seems to be to frail for general home use. I have had the product for 6 months and can no longer get the wand to detach from the hose and I just needed to get the drive belt replaced on the carpet head. The only place that sells these is Bissell and the cost is $20.00 with shipping. Don't buy this vacuum if you want something that will last more tan 6 months.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Better to avoid :( Horrible vacuum. On first use we were happy with it, but we soon discovered that the machine is constantly clogged and loses most of its suction quickly. There are two filters, and they constantly need to be cleaned (after every use) otherwise the suction power is almost completely lost. In fact, I spend just as much time cleaning the filters as I do cleaning the floors. Our house is average size, no kids and two cats. To top it off, the rotating brush has now just stopped working after only six months of usage (the belt snapped off)! We take good care of our appliances in a house well maintained, so there's no reason this should happen. For a little more, we're now buying a replacement from the ''better'' brand that we know will work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Things that If I had known before, I would never have... First of all, generally I like Bissell. I own a little blue carpet sweeper and I love it. As for my Multisurface Expert Professional vacuum cleaner I cannot say the same. I should have realized when I was first trying to assemble the wand and other attachments. The little manual provided is useless. Hardly any written instructions just black and white pictures and arrows that made almost no sense to me. I should have returned the unit to the retailer right then and there ! Alas I did not ..... and here is my sad sad tale. This vacuum cleaner requires way too much maintenance with far to little instruction as to how to accomplish it. Bissell could have provided (but did not ) an extra filter so that the task could be performed quickly and on MY schedule given the fact that once EVERY month this filter needs to be rinsed/washed and then dried for 24 hours ! And then I found myself up to my elbows and eyelids in dust and dirt trying to dissemble the cup/ cannister so it could be rinsed or washed and then set out to dry, again, for 24 hours. Why not design something that could be quickly wiped out? Then there is yet ANOTHER filter on the motor section of the unit that needs to be rinsed and then dried for 24 hours every three months. Bissell could have provided an extra one of these too (but didn't). The little manual also shows a picture of a brush being removed for cleaning. I've tried to remove it but have given up. I will make do with picking the debris off the brush without removing it. Suffice to say - I HATE this vacuum cleaner If I had known how much trouble it would cause me I would NEVER have bought it.
