K24109 - Big City Slider Station Mini Burger Pan w/Recipes,Spoon
Think Outside of the Box
I decided to throw my review into the pool after reading the few negative viewpoints on this product. Just because its marketed as a slider pan, be creative and think outside the box. I tried it with ground beef to make sliders and it was okay, a bit messy for the cleanup but the burgers cooked correctly. But I originally ordered this pan to make our own Egg Mc? sandwiches for breakfast. Instead of the recipe in the booklet for eggs, I put a small dab of butter in each section and cracked open the egg in the sections and used a fork to break the yolk apart before the cooking process started. You only need to use a fork to turn the eggs over once during cooking (do not use the handle press for cooking eggs.) Put these on english muffins or biscuits with a round strip of canadian bacon and cheese and voila'. You just saved yourself a lot of money from the fast food outlets. Try this out and see for yourself (cleanup is easier). I refuse to call this pan "junk" as other reviewers have because I saw the potential that it can do much more. Thank you QVC for presenting this product.
Mediocre at best.
Burgers MUST be cooked well done; only one side (the bottom) truly browns; the burgers sit in their own grease so you really need to clean the pan between batches; and the pan is really difficult to clean. Also, it seems the ground beef MUST be room temperature if you want a nicely formed patty (mine had been seasoned and refrigerated over night so the patties didn't come out round).
If you are preparing sliders for kids and they don't care too much about taste, this might be useful.
I was disappointed. But it's a nice idea.
Not worth it.
For me it wasn't worth spending the money. It would be much easier just to make small patties and fry them in a pan. I tried eggs and they didn't turn out very good.
It was hard to clean, I had to soak it in hot water and it's hard to wipe out.
Fun and Useful
The first process I did with the Slider maker was to make patties. I was pleased with the results and vacuum packed them to store in the freezer. It makes a great pattie maker. Next I cooked some and was pleased with the results. When finished I turned them out on a plate with no difficulties. It also cleans easily with a little soapy water and air dried.
JUNK -burgers fall apart when you try to get them out. This item is getting returned.
I just finished cooking up some mini burgers for dinner and the pan did well. The burgers cooked relatively quick and taste as good as anything you would get in a restaurant these days. The pan cleaned up real easy. Not really sure about the previous reviewer's comment about junk, junk, junk; I really don't think so. I'm gonna have to try it out with some eggs to make some breakfast sliders, I think it will do just fine.
One word or may 2 or 3
Junk Junk Junk Junk Junk and more junk - don't waste your money!
This is one of the neatest gadgets I have. I use it in the house, on the grill, and in our motor home. I get the buns anywhere. The best ones we think to use are the Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls. In the middle of my meat loaf recipe I put a piece of cheese. We also use pork sausage in the pan too. I cook the sausage, then put egg whites in the pan. They are good for breakfast. I would recommend this pan to everyone who wants to make quick burgers or breakfast burgers. Perfect size for little ones, and big ones too.
