B. Makowsky Luxe Cobra Embossed Leather Mini Organizer
Smells like fuel
This bag has a strong odor that smells like fuel. I was surprised that it got past quality control after other reviews with the same issue. I think it's time for a phone call to find out why they keep shipping these bags out. I have ordered several B Makowsky handbags and have not had problems with odor. My Mom also ordered another color and it smelled worse than the one I ordered. Hope to get credit on the shipping and some answers about the quality control at QVC. Will be returning both.
I LIKE MY BAG WHEN IT CAME, I DON'T UNDERSTAND ALL THE NEG. REVIEWS EITHER.IT IS EVERYTHING THEY SAID ABOUT IT.THE STRAP IS LONG AND ADJUSTABLE AND IS A NICE SIZE BAG WHEN YOU DONT WANT TO CARRY ALOT OF STUFF. NO COMPLAINTS HERE!
I own several B. Mak. bags. This crossbody bag just didn't do it for me. It's like wearing a mini suitcase on a strap; too boxey. The main compartment fits my wallet, but leaves no room for anything else. The outside zip pocket isn't helpful. It would be great if that pocket had several credit card slots and a pocket for cash. That would leave the main compartment available to put other items in the bag. The cell phone pocket barely accommodates my I-phone in it's otter box. The strap came off too easily, so the snaps need to be more secure. This bag will be returned.
If Bruce could design a crossbody bag with larger east-west dimensions with the convenience of a Tiganello bag A-89686, he would hit that bag out of the park!!
Where to start? The hardware on this bag is cheap. The strap is too short for a "stylish" cross body. The leather is not supple and actually appears more faux than distressed. This makes the third B. Makowsky bag I have returned. Three strikes and this designer is out in my opinion. I am sorry to say that I am moving on to a different line of luxury hand bags.
LOVE THIS BAG!!
Received mine today and fell in love! What a darling style for a small bag. There is nothing wrong with it and I love the feel of the leather. I don't understand the negitive reviews at all. Thank you Bruce, it's perfect!
I certainly beg to differ with the neg reviewers
I do NOT agree with the neg reviews. I just got mine in the black and think it is very high end looking. I take a small crossbody bag with me to Mexico every year but have not had a nice one so when this came on I grabbed the black. It is perfect for vacations where you take the minimum items. I am a big bag gal yet 5' tall because I think I have to carry a ton of stuff with me - You never know when you'll need something! But because I don't carry a big wallet or checkbook with me in Mexico this is perfect. About the quality: Yes, it is distressed but it is supposed to be that way. I think the hardware looks great and works just fine. This may be too short of a strap for you tall gals but it is about time we short ones got one that the strap didn't look like it would wrap around twice! While you could add holes to the other straps the left over piece is so long it looks stupid. This does not. So all you short gals out there DO NOT PAY ATTENTION to those neg reviews. This bag is very sharp looking for a tiny bag that is. Love the organization in this one. This way when I open my bag in Mexico not everything needs to show. Bruce, you did a fantastic job on this one. A must have for traveling.
Chianti is a beautiful raspberry color. But the rest of the bag did not work for me. My smartphone does not fit. The strap is too short to wear crossbody. The magnetic closure seemed more difficult than usual. The zipper is too chunky & rough. And it does have a strange smell. Sorry it has to be returned. A few tweaks could make it better.
I own over 20 B. Mak bags and this is the first one that I have found NOT to live up to expectations. I understand that the leather is supposed to be 'distressed,' but it's stiff, and the truffle color is dull and lifeless (reminds me of elephant hide). The bag is not at all stylish. Worse than this is the cheap hardware, something I never expected to see in a B. Mak bag. The zipper around the back pocket is large and crude looking (plain ugly) and the snap for the back cellphone pocket is a small, cheap snap --- not the nice magnetic closures I've come to expect in Makowsky bags. As if all of this was not bad enough, there's the smell! This bag was sprayed with something (preservative? anti-mildew compound?) that smells like toxic waste. It's overpowering and nasty. I've never before encountered this type of smell in a B. Mak bag. It's on its way back.
