Rated 1 out of 5 by DISAPPOINTED! I own over 40 BM bags and was so upset of the lack of quality in this one. Never gotten a bag this bad from his line. The butterscotch was perfect and that was all! The straps are way to thin. If the short one had two, it would have been easier to open and close the bag but the latch just was not feasible. If both straps were redone then it would be a great bag. Not sure what has happened to this line but it has went down so badly. Hope they pull it together! 05-12-15
Rated 1 out of 5 by scratches easy, color streaked This is one of the worst bags I have received from b.makowky. The color really wasn't the same as it looked on tv. When I opened the bag, there were scratches of discoloration on both sides of the bag, Looks like dyed color will eventually fade off. 03-31-15
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good purchase When I received this bag I was very impressed with the look, quality of the product and softness of leather. I was going to purchase another in the mahogany color but after using for short period of time I found the latch to be an inconvenience. You cannot just close bag and latch it as you need to make sure the latch is in right position by using two hands to manipulate leather. Depending on how you place belongings in bag it has taken me up to 30 seconds to latch. 01-19-15
Rated 4 out of 5 by Delighted with this bag Love, love, love this bag which I ordered in maple which is a beautiful shade of brown. I wanted a color which would be good year 'round and this so fits the bill. I also wanted a bag big enough to carry IPad, note pads, books and such...in other words something to function like a small briefcase or book bag, and this does not disappoint. Haven't tried yet but looks like a legal pad might fit. I am a senior who goes to a local univ for free classes and need a bag that I can stuff everything in. The handle/strap is relatively narrow but substantial enough to carry some weight, and the cross body strap is adjustable. I need it longish so it will be easy to get on over a coat. I am currently using a lovely D&B small shopper, but as I also use a cane it creates some problems and in the future will only be using cross body. However, the narrowness of the strap does create a problem because it wants to twist, not lay flat, and needs an annoying amount of adjustment. In spite of this one flaw it is a keeper. 07-29-14
Rated 3 out of 5 by Wanted to love it, but... For the money, I agree that the strap and handle are both too narrow. Also, the turnlock takes some time to close. The bag is lovely to look at and the leather is soft but after using it for a few weeks, I just can't justify the cost. Just not practical enough for me. 01-11-13
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointingly Flimsy Strap Buyer beware: The size and style of this bag may appear perfect but, I must say, the strap is quite disappointing and the bag, as a whole, just isn't up to par. I have 10 B Makowsky handbags currently in my closet plus I have given 3 as gifts in the past year. Additionally, I have returned two in the recent past because the quality is not what one might expect of a $250+ designer bag. It's so sad. The price keeps going up and the quality of workmanship keeps going down. Looks like I'll be searching for a new designer of quality leather handbags. 01-02-13
Rated 3 out of 5 by Beautiful bag I love the detailing, I bought the butterscotch. The 2 things I don't care for are the long strap - when you adjust it to a shorter length, the remaining inches at the bottom kind of blow around in the wind, and the clasp is challenging to close. This will teach me to not purchase purses w/clasps and instead, go for zipper bags. But, I'm keeping it. It's roomy, vibrant and beautiful. I'm very detail oriented and the two things that bother me about the purse others may not care a whisp about. Go for it if you're attracted to the bag. It is lovely to look at and functional. Oh, the strap is pretty skinny, if you're accustomed to a broader strap, this may not suit you. I'm used to Coach straps so this is taking some getting used to. However, I'm keeping it! 12-22-12
