Authentic Gourmet (48) French Made Butter Croissants
What happened to the SIZE!!!
I have ordered these many times, I absoluetly love them. However, I did not order the mini croissants, seems to me they are the size of mini. Very disapponted.
These are very, very good croissants which I had at Christmas dinner last year and since I bought the 48 count, was able to enjoy for another couple of weeks because everyone loves them!!! Decadent taste.
I do have one concern though and hope that "Authentic Gourmet" can respond. I bake on parchment paper at exactly the temperature and time that they tell you too but some still come out super dark on the bottom. Is that normal? It doesn't affect the flavor any but it's odd to see.
So yummy !!!!! I cook them just as the directions say. I don't open the door until they puff-up and are browned. They are amazing. Really :)
An exceptional product which arrived in perfect condition a day earlier than predicted. As we tried them, we were taken immediately to our time in France. We had forgotten how much better the French croissants are than the grocery store variety and these are less expensive and far better quality than what can be purchased in the local coffee shop.
Words cannot describe how much my friends and I enjoyed these croissants. They are so flaky and delicious. I cooked mine at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. They puffed up beautifully.
I am going to reorder for sure.
I gave these up for Lent but they are fabulous!! I miss them ;-(
These really are a wonderful indulgence. I purchased them to have for holidays and Christmas Breakfast. Guests we had stay over or have breakfast with us during the holidays absolutely loved them! The only problem is keeping them around!
For those having problems with them falling flat, there are 2 critical things you must do. First, when laying them out on the tray there is a right way and a wrong way. The glazed side MUST face up. It says so in the instructions but is easily overlooked.. Second, do NOT open the oven at anytime during baking. Of course higher altitudes have to make adjustments as normal, but I cooked 48 of them (can't believe that! but thats how good they are!) and didnt have a single issue with any of them.
I was skeptical about how good these would be. I'm so glad I tried them. They're delicious!! Will definitely order again in the future.
I hesitated for years...
...to buy these croissants. Although tempting, they always seemed an extravagant splurge. I am SO happy I finally ordered them. They are beyond delicious and are the Real Deal (!), having had croissants while in Paris. These are beautiful in their presentation; they puff up huge and glorious, are a thing of beauty to behold and - even better - the aroma in your kitchen will make you salivate! They are easy to store (take up very little space in your freezer as they are super flat), take only about 25 minutes in the oven... I don't even use the parchment they suggest and they come out perfect anyway. I figured it out and it's only $2 each and - I promise you - that is a very reasonable price for the quality you are getting! Don't hesitate! And QVC please continue to bring these to your customers!
Just Like In France
Having eaten fresh croissants in France last summer these are wonderfully close to the ones we had!!!
These croissants are wonderful...so delicious. When we ran out, I went back to the pre-baked croissants from the grocery store, and my husband said he could really tell the difference. For the people who say they fall flat, here is what I have discovered....bake them on parchment paper and make sure you bake them long enough. If you don't use parchment paper and you don't bake them long enough, you will have problems with them falling flat. The price and the extra effort make these a treat that my husband and I enjoy on special occasions, weekends, etc.
Mmm, mmm, good.
I took one reviewer's advice and tried the 400 degrees/27 minutes baking advise, and it did work; however, since my gas oven seems to run hot, I changed it to 24/25 minutes at 400 degrees, and it works well.
Even tho I think the 48 are expensive, I do understand what is involved in bringing these to market, so I am happy to pay. They are that good.
I just take them out of the oven, no butter, no jam, no nothing and eat them just the way they are, and they are so good. Very light, crispy, and plump.
I am happy I bought the 48 because over a dozen are almost gone, and I live alone! LOL
