Yes, I agree the australian opal is not as bright as the ethiopian, and with that said, this is a gorgeous ring, well worth the money, the sapphires are beautiful, I bought this to represent my mother and I , but you buy it and enjoy it too!

Was so excited when they reduced the price and for this price I expected to be really Wowed! Well it was a big disappointment when I opened the box... the Ethiopian opal w/white zircon is a much better price for a much better impact so I just cannot find the value in this ring! It's going back asap! I loved the fact that this had rubies, my birthstone, so will settle for white zircon instead. There was a lot of fire in this opal but I do like the ethiopian vs australian myself.

This ring is beautiful; but unfortunately, the first time I wore it a stone came out! I was in line to check out and looked down at the lovely ring only to find a stone was gone. The prongs on the ring don't seem to be smoothed down at all; which seems to be the trend with many rings from the Q. Very disappointed that more attention to the details are overlooked. The ring is expensive already; but feel I would need to have a jeweler secure the prongs better if I reorder it. I shouldn't have to with a new ring!

Having a September birthday and wearing white gold, I ordered this ring. It arrived yesterday and I am not disappointed. The Opal is set low enough that you will not have to worry about hitting it in daily wear. The individual stones are very securely set. This ring fits very true to size. The colors in the Opal sparkle as you move your hand. This was a wonderful value in 2016.

I guess I should have known when Jill said [during the Gem Gala show] that the opal in this ring didn't have the same level of fire as an Ethiopian opal that I would be disappointed when I opened the box. But, thanks to her comment, I wasn't surprised/shocked. There was no fire/flashing of colors at all in this opal - not in sunlight and not under fluorescent lighting. So it's going back.
