I received my set of "As Is" skillets today and they were 'brand spanking new'!! I checked them out and my NuWave 2 Induction Cooktop 'recognizes' them so they are Induction compatible. They are a nice weight, a lot less than my Lodge cast iron skillets and really no heavier than my T-Fal 10.5" and Berghoff 12" 18/10 stainless with encapsulated copper bottom induction compatible skillets. They are a generous depth, and appear to be very well made. I might add that I have a Lodge tempered glass lid for my Lodge (10.5") cast iron skillets and Dutch Ovens and it, as well as the cast iron lids from the Dutch Ovens fit the 10" skillet perfectly, and I was happy to discover that useful fact!! In the 'on air' video, with Alberti and Chef Joe, I was happy to hear Chef Joe say the pans are 'metal utensil safe'!! That is a plus, but do not take it for a license to abuse the cookware as it is porcelain enamel and as with all your cookware, treat it with respect and it will return the favor with years of great service! Some reviewers have complained of sticking and I must say that it's all about knowing how to cook. I can cook an egg easy over in a bare metal 18/10 skillet, flip the egg with a metal spatula, and never break the yolk and put a diner perfect 'over easy' egg on your plate. It's all about knowing how to cook and how to use your cookware!! I really like this 2 skillet Cooks Essentials Lightweight Marble Cast Iron Frying Pans/Skillets. I also plan to use them on my Cook-Air wood fired grill I just received as well as my little gas and little charcoal grills because these frying pans are so durable!! I cannot say how happy I am with this purchase, getting a brand new set for the 'as is' price makes me feel like I stole this super great frying pan set!!!! Just don't forget to remove the little Made In China sticker from the bottom of the pans before washing and using the pans so as not to have a small piece of burned on plastic on the skillet bottom.
