Aran Craft Merino Wool Button Front Scallop Edge Cardigan
This is a beautiful Irish sweater.
This cardigan is beautifully made with the QVC promise: Quality, Value and Convenience.
I ordered the medium after reading the size guide. I typically buy a large.
Ordered 2 sizes down and is PERFECT!
Okay, so I went a little nuts on St. Patrick's Day and ordered a bunch of sweaters for myself and as gifts. Nearly all had to be returned, mainly for sizing issues. The thing is, I absolutely LOVE Irish knit sweaters; where I live (CA Central Coast), cardigans are a year round staple. Summers in Fairbanks are warmer than on our little strip of coastline. After returning too large sweaters, I took a chance and ordered this style 2 sizes smaller than my normal QVC size of 1X. The large is an almost perfect fit. Since I'm short, I do have to cuff the sleeves, but the lacey edging makes that look nice. My mom will also be getting one for Mother's Day, as will my sister... so when I visit we'll have matching Ivory sweaters! The nice thing about the Ivory is it's an all-season color. Might be ordering another color for myself while they're still on easy pay. Oh... and my husband LOVES it on me!
NOT WHAT I EXPECTED
I was so looking forward to getting this sweater but was disappointed, it was way too big. I ordered the size like I was told to. I returned it and ordered the medium. I am waiting for it to arrive.
When I saw this online during the St. Pats day special I thought it would be good but I usually do not like collars. Well what a surprise when I unbuttoned it and put it on! The way the front fell was just beautiful and so very flattering to my shape. This is now my MOST treasured sweater.
Need a "love" button!!!
I love this sweater SO MUCH that I ordered two identical sweaters!! I love the style, the yarn, the fit, and most of all the scalloped edging! It is so beautiful and stylish - I just love it!
I watch the Irish shows from beginning to end every year and really enjoy listening to the accents of the guests and their stories of their homeland. I would LOVE to visit Ireland someday (If I can get my husband on board!) and view the green of the hills, visit the pubs and get to know the lovely people of this gorgeous country. I even buy the green irish soaps because I love Ireland so much!! There is just something about these people that is so inviting and genuine - I'm hooked. I must have a dozen or more Irish sweaters now...I've lost count. I try to get something every year. One year I got my Mom a rosary made from the green connamara (sp?) stones and she loves it and uses it every day. I have several pieces of pottery, vases and a trinket box - all of which I love. So, you see these Irish sweaters have a place in my heart..
So far, I have only sent one back and that's because I already had one identical. The price on this one now is awesome - and with the 3 easy pays - if they had one in my size that was a different color, I would snap it up. But, they only have the natural color left which I already have. Grab this ladies...it's a great investment and I think you'll love it as much as I do.
Wish this weren't on clearance because...
....it is such a beautiful sweater and I would like to see it come back in more colors!
I ordered XL and it fit perfectly. I normally wear an XL or 1X in QVC clothing.
It is a not a flimsy sweater-- it has an impressive weight to it, so don't hang this lovely garment in a closet!
The scallop edging is not overdone, which also appeals to me. I am really pleased with this purchase, even though it cost me almost $100 with the shipping!
I got this sweater in the chambray for my MIL for Christmas...she was thrilled! Fits true to size and highly recommended...
I loved this when I got it, but I have had this nearly a year and took it out to wear this season and it already looks like it is ten years old. Only 3 months after I purchased this I noticed there were piles on it. I gave it 3 stars because it is beautiful but I didn't feel worth the money.
I love the feel of this sweater. The weight is just right. Warm and comfortable. Thinking about another color. The blue I got is very pretty.
Very feminine and very warm
I purchased this beautiful sweater in the warm coral and I love it. The color is perfect for autumn. I love the feminine look of this sweater. I ordered my usual Aran Craft size Large (I wear a 1x in most other clothing) and it fits fine. I like that the sweater is a few extra inches longer than most Irish sweaters. My only complaint is that the sleeves are a little long on me. I have other Aran Craft sweaters, but this one is my favorite!
Not For Me
This sweater was very nice and excellent quality but there was a defect in the collar, making it look like a hole. I would have exhanged it but by the time I received the cardigan, was on waitlist, it was too warm to wear and I didn't want to spend the $104 + S&H at this time. Didn't love it for that price, that's why only 4 stars.
Nah, not what I expected....
I've ordered other Irish sweaters through QVC on their St. Patrick's Day specials. I've always be pleased with the price and quality. This sweater, however, did not live up to my expectations. It was quite lightweight for the money -$100- and I don't think it was worth the price. It's the type of cardigan that could be purchased for much less with the same quality at any department store. The other Irish sweaters I purchased through QVC were substantially heavy with a true Irish quality and style. Got many compliments. This sweater was nothing special. Sorry QVC. It was sent back.
