K32010 - AeroGarden 3 Pod Kitchen Garden w/Garden Shears& Seed Kit
save yourself time and trouble
I always wanted one of these but the amount of plants that you get out of this system is minor at best; it has some noise to it and the light on at night (17 hours total a day) brightens my entire kitchen; you have better result with your own seeds, pot and some sunshine; for what is is costing in electricity for the small turnout of herbs, is too expensive for a teaspoon of herbs after 4 weeks............; nice idea but a pot, dirt and seeds will produce a better yield
Love Love love it
Can I say it again I love this product I've had it about a week and the seeds are spouting already. I don't know whats the complaint about noise mine is very little just a low humm you barely notice it. My only complaint is QVC should have more of these systems like the 7 Pod and seed packs because I went to the AeroGarden website and boy everything is SOOOOO expensive I can see my self buying another one hopefully the 7Pod here on QVC and its on EASY PAY because I can't seem to wrap my head around the cost On AeroGarden site to pay all at once. Please QVC get this item Back and make it reasonable for people to buy it
Bought this 3-pod Aerogarden after my husband bought the larger 7-pod one from a different site. By the time I got here the only color left was pink, which IS a little bright, but the much lower cost made up for the color. I happened to *not* want to grow herbs but rather flowers, so I went to Amazon and ordered the Cascading Petunia flower seed kit from Aerogarden. Both items arrived at the same time, so I was able to plant my seed pods right away. I've had it just over a week and can see multiple sprouts in each of the three seed pods. The water pump sound (as mentioned in other reviews) really isn't any louder than a fish tank, so I have no problems with it. I have it sitting next to my sewing area and the light is fantastic for someone with depression in the middle of winter. I can't wait for the plants to get large enough to start blooming. Definitely am getting alot of enjoyment out of checking it each day to see how the plants are doing. Setup was very easy, everything was explained in the seed pod kit (same would be for the herbs it comes with). The nutrient packs are easy to add and there's really not much else to do but sit back and enjoy! SOOOOOO glad I found this here! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the lack of color selection. Other than that this item was perfect!
best gift for myself
been looking at this for awhile, finally bought it when qvc put it on clearence, got it home set it up and my herbs that came with it sprouted within a week,,me and my kids are loving it checking it daily, cant belive how fast they are growing, the only draw back that I see so far is not buying this a long time ago.cant wait for qvc to get in more of theses,I will defenitly be getting another one, would love to see qvc offering more of the seed kits.my kids now want one of these foe themselves for their room,
So far so good! What a FUN toy! Love it
After reading the reviews and hearing about noise, I was worried, but no noise to speak of. I dislike noise more than anything, makes me cranky. So, for me to say it's quiet, it's quiet! If I really listen for it I can hear a slight hum, but I have to really listen for it.
It was easy to set up and I can't wait for something to grow. I am a fairly good gardener so do I NEED this?, no. But it sure is fun. I must say I was taken aback by the cost of these pods. But I am sure I can simulate them myself with the used shells. But since they are so much fun, I'll probably wait for a coupon and buy some.
Only reason for 4 stars instead of five:
The only color that was left when I turned on the TV was the pink. I see a blue one the site and heard there was a yellow. Might I say the colors are UGLY? I laughed when I read the review about not having an Easter egg colored kitchen. Really guys? These are some tacky colors. So,. I will have to hide it in the corner, but that's ok. Maybe I'll paint the shell. wonder if that would work. I didn't buy it for asthetics but it would be nice if it were more attractive.
This would make a great gift for young children to grow flowers (they offer flower pods) It's an easy way to introduce them to the magic of gardening.
So with all that said, let's see if it works. I hope I can write an addendum to my review after the fact. Stay tuned to the Q and tell David Venable I love him.
Got my new Aerogarden 3 today. It was very easy to set up and is now running. There is very little noise. I read reviews that mentioned noise and I would recommend calling customer service because it should not be noisy. I had to look at the water chamber to make sure it was working. The light is bright and cheerful on a cold Winter day. It fits just right under my kitchen counter. You can adjust the times the light goes on and off by following the instructions in the booklet that comes with the garden. I am the 4th family member to buy an Aerograden and have only heard good things about them. Looking forward to having fresh herbs for cooking soon. Might have to get a few more for gifts. This would be perfect for children who are learning about how plants grow in school!!!
Great way to grow lettuce in the winter. No disease like the stores get, just pure good food. I got 2 aerogardens with 3 holes to grow and have lettuce in one, herbs in one and just got a 7 hole garden for tomatoes. Now that is great for winter in the snow country, yes.
I ordered the lime just a little over a month ago and am really surprised with the results. The herbs are growing beautifully, in fact I can almost snip the dill off for a small sprinkling over a salad. The thyme is nice and bushy though not as tall but that's normal. I've grown herbs for a lot of years and they can be tricky at times, especially indoors. Yet these seeds all started to sprout within the first week. I just ordered a second AeroGarden as the price on QVC is about $30.00 cheaper than anywhere else. I checked several websites and came across the official Aero Garden one. This is a great place to add additional seed kits, lights, etc. The prices are very reasonable and they give instant bonuses. I odered some flower kits and extra lights because I have feeling I wil really enjoy this new advernture over the coming winter months in New England, where the outdoors growing season is rather short. I have noticed that some people complained about the noise it makes but I would call it just a soft humming. It sits right on my kitchen counter beside the sink and I plan on putting the next one on the other side of it as I really like the light it gives off. I have LED bulbs all around my apartment because I find them to be easier on the eyes and these fit right in. If you enjoy live plants indoors but don't want to mess with the dirt and special care most of them take, I'd say give it a try. I'm sure you'll enjoy this easy way of "gardening".
2nd attempt with AeroGarden
This is my second try with the AeroGarden and unfortunately, the same reasons I sent the first one back applies to this one as well. It is very noisy, I've had it for 3 weeks and there are barely a few little sprouts but it sure does attract a lot of bugs... I wish it worked as shown on QVC because I really would love to have an endless supply of fresh herbs and other produce.
Cute & Fun
I set up my Aerogarden on Aug 24th & as of today, Aug 30th the Basil is growing like crazy & the Dill & Thyme are not too far behind! I got the yellow & it is so cute in my Americana kitchen. Everyone asks about it & says it's really cool! I am having so much fun watching it grow & will definately grow more pods in the future. I highly reccomend giving this a try.
I love the aerogarden & everyone that sees it think it is awesome. Its already start'd growin herbs.
Mr and my grnadkids
I have watched the larger version of this device on QVC for many years but living alone it was too large. Now my grandchildren and I have agreed this is just the right size for us to share. They had a great time putting it together and planting the first three pods. They come over regularly to watch the progress. When the first leaves appeared they were really excited. '
I do love to cook and the combination of fresh herbs and excited involved grandchildren is great. We are already talking about what the next crop will be.
