Active-I Sunglasses w/ Built-in Camera and Audio Recording
would not recommend
I was excited about these when I ordered but what I got wasn't what I expected. 1st the fit of the glasses is terrible, I have a large hat size 7 7/8 and they barely stay on me. They don't fit like traditional glasses, they go over the side of the ear not over the top and behind like a regular pair of glasses does. Because of this, they slip around and don't stay in place. My young daughters had to hold them on their heads to keep from falling off. The video quality is terrible, as in 1980 VHS terrible. In this modern digital age I think we could do much better. Also, theres NO support from the manufacturer, the manual (one page) that comes with the unit listed two websites for information and neither one had any information on the product at all, no number to call. Its my guess that they aren't even in business anymore. If you look at the online auction community, these are selling for around 20.00 to 30.00 and they come with an additional attachment that plugs in the glasses where you can play back what you just recorded. This unit does not come with that attachment. Overall I would strongly recommend not buying these.
This is my second pair of these recording sunglasses. The first pair I have had for 3 years and they worked wonderfully. However, this spring, the USB plug just broke inside of the glasses and rendered them useless. So, I bought another pair and they are just as great. Yes, they should be used outside. I wear them when we go bicycling on the bike trails. They're a lot of fun. My boyfriend "directs and acts" in the videos. Just be careful with that USB port.
The quality of the video is not worth the price. I sent the sunglasses back the next day. Great idea though.
HORRIBLY DISAPPOINTING X-MAS GIFT!
I purchased these as what I thought would be something "cool" for my high-school aged grandson to record his sports & other busy activities himself,as they happened.I also purchased the protection plan&got it going right away, only to find after charging up&studying all about the product, that noone who tried it could get it to work,AT ALL!They were extremely cheaply made&seemed as if they would break if you tried to adjust them.I have never been so completely dissatified with anything I have gotten through Q.V.C.before,so I dont really find the fault in them, although I just can't uderstand how they ended up selling such an obviously inferior product this time!JUST A WARNING-PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS AS A GIFT FOR ANYONE YOU LOVE
Complete Waste Of Money
I just repacked the device and will give it a second chance. So far - not recommended.
Not worth more than $20
I had to return. My $15 video camera that came with an 8gb disk takes better video. I had to wear these glasses hanging on the tip of my nose to get some of what I was looking at. The glasses were too big. Many people knew that it was a video recorder. It may be good for kids, but not indoors and they will probably be way too big for them anyway.
