Acer 10.1" Netbook - 1GB RAM, 320GB HD, Webcam,HDMI Port
m very unhappy with it I'm packing it up and sending it back. It freezes up at the drop of a hat. Takes forever just to connect to my email, and freezes when I try to open a message. I find myself going to my smart phone to do tasks. Not satisfied at all.
I bought this after my Dell crashed. I was looking for something small and compact. I hardly ever used my CD/DVD drive so I didn't see the need to have one. I was very excited when it first arrived I did the intial set up which was very easy and picked up my Wi-Fi quickly. Surfing the internet on the other hand not so well. You can't run multiple windows all at once causes the computer to freeze and it is so SLOW!! It took forever to do anything online. I had it for about a week and sent it back.
I was excited to get this netbook. I tried it for a couple of days, but it is just too slow. I thought it might be my internet service, but I do have high speed internet.
This acer is the perfect size, just too slow. Back it went.
Purchased this less than 2 years ago. The "mother board" has to be replaced! This may cost more than a new Acer 10", which is no longer offered in pink. Not happy!!
The Acer Aspire One D270-26Dkk advertised here is for Singapore market. I was sent the AOD270-1375 which has no Bluetooth and the RAM is soldered on the motherboard, impossible to upgrade past 1GB. Performance wise the 1375 is very impressive. I gave it all I had and it never slowed down a bit, multible video streams, netflix, instant messaging, everything I could think of and it worked perfectly. It uses 1GB RAM pretty good after removing antivirus to free some up. The video performance is top rate, even better than my larger and more powerful computers. The working RAM is essentially 3GB, 1 physical, 2 virtural. One other point is Windows Starter is excellent, I was totally surprised in how well it works and is easily my favorite OS of all time. The Intel CPU N2600 is super cool, it runs 4 cores (2 hyperthreaded) and never went past 20% load. The netbook is fanless, the Cpu is only 3.5watts, it hardly even gets slightly warm.
