Rated 1 out of 5 by jewelchild Nice concept but it doesn't work
Bought this and an umbrella for a Fourth of July party we had. (This is the stand that supposedly went with the umbrella, M45568). However, after close to an hour, my husband wasn't any closer to getting the stand together. The parts did not fit together and the pole of the umbrella got stuck halfway down into the stand. Needless to say, neither were usable for the party. The colorful umbrella would have looked great in our lanai too. I am sure at another time, my husband will continue working with it and by adding his own parts, will make it usable. But it should not be this difficult. I should have paid attention to all the negative comments.

After limited use the stand no longer holds the umbrella properly. I have to add weight to the base with blocks for stability. Sadly, this is the most I have ever paid for an umbrella stand and the quality is no better than much cheaper stands.

Yes, it's just a stand. Easy to follow directions to put together and serves very nicely to hold the umbrella in place without any issues.

This is a great item. It was very easy to assemble. The weight is wonderful don't have to worry about a strong wind carrying it away

It is very heavy, and I feel confident when the umbrella is mounted it will stay in place!

I took this out of the packing, started reading the manual (I always do this when I buy something before I start putting anything together) and some parts were missing. I will have to say that the concrete base was in tack and not broken as other people have stated. My husband has a garage and we probably could have made this work but I ordered an umbrella the same day which I received BROKEN. When I called customer service about the umbrella, I told them about parts missing in the base and I am returning it as well.

This stand is quite heavy; about 37 pounds. My son put it on the deck for me and I agree with many reviewers that the instructions to put it together are confusing. Anyway, the base is cement. Like poorly poured cement it arrived with cracks in it. Also there was this totally out of shape and twisted black plastic piece that was supposed to go around the bottom of the base. It arrived off the base and it was so badly warped that it did not fit on the bottom of the base. I threw it in the garbage with the packaging. The condition this base arrived in leads me to suspect that someone else had it and they returned it because of the defects. The umbrella which is the same brand from QVC went in the base just fine so I am keeping it but I am extremely disappointed how badly crafted this base is and the unsatisfactory condition of it upon arrival.
