I've been using these wonderful candles for well over 10 years. I first found them in a lovely boutique when I lived in northern New Jersey, then on the web and finally on QVC. While I can appreciate other's experience, it has not been mine. I trim the wick no more frequently than those I buy at the same stand alone shop the other reviewer referenced. IMHO, these are the best candles. Scent not only permeates the home, but lasts to the very end, with no pooling. Add to this the fact that they are made in the USA, and the company welcomes disabled workers, puts Cheerful Giver Candles at the top of my list as gifts, both to others and myself.

I should have known these candles would have the same bad traits I've found with other CHEERFUL GIVER candles. Yes, they can be fitted into small areas, but then they give off a small scent. As well, the problem with any of the Cheerful Giver candles is the near constant attention one must give the wicks. Trim, trim, trim begins to be all you think about when you see one burning or are getting ready to light one. I have never had such labor intensive candles! I am used to the brand from the stand alone store which sells skin items and room scent items whose candles have mega scents. And those burned wicks need either no attention of a quick snap off with your fingers with no thinking and always break just where they need to. No, instead you will be seeking out your wick trimmers, trying to reach way down into these candles and leveling the trimmers "just so," ALL THE TIME before every single use and even sometimes needing to cap these to solidify the wax so you can clip again because the wicks have gotten too long and so too large a flame is produced. Sometimes they simply drown! So, no, I would not recommend these candles. I love the old-fashioned look, but I have so much to do that trimming wicks ad infinitum is just asking too much. I mean trim, trim, trim....no matter what size Cheerful Giver candles you get. If you like the tender care one must give a bonsai, you may like these candles. But for me they are too much work for too little scent!
