I spent some time checking into cutting boards and was excited to find this one. Unfortunately, the surface of this board is not smooth and would require a great deal of sanding to get it the point where it would be useful for rolling out pastry. It is very frustrating to have to pay so much to return an item that is not suited for the purpose it is advertised for and I have gone back and forth on whether it is worth returning. It is certainly big enough for the most ambitious cutting board uses, but very unwieldy to wash and not what I want to tackle for just an onion or two. It also required significant storage space. If you want a really, really big cutting board and have the room, this might be for you. But is you aspire to use it to roll out pastry, save yourself the disappointment and expense. Unless you have a belt sander and a lot of spare time.

Although this was a Christmas gift for my granddaughter and I have not used it, she was very excited to get it. She loves to bake and could not wait to try it out! It is nice quality and
very large! Wood is also good looking! And the measurements are great to have on it! Another grandchild now has said that they would like one also!

We are so very happy with this pastry board. The size is absolutely ideal for measuring our small to large round pie crusts as well as our straight-line pastas for ravioli. Thank you for making this wonderful tool available to us - we are grateful beyond words.

the board looks great in the clear plastic, but once removed it is rough and has splinters. It is not treated so you need to use cutting board mineral oil. Not very happy with this product.

Beautiful pastry and cutting board. It's 3/4" thick and the information is not painted on but burned into the wood. There are no feet or pads on the back so it's perfect to flip over to use as a cutting board to keep the front smooth for pastry. It's nice and large so you aren't fighting to keep what you are cutting on the board. I've had a lot of cutting boards over the years but this one is the best yet. I love the size and the grain in the wood is beautiful and the finish is perfect. It's an excellent board and not so thick that it's obtrusive to leave on the counter all the time to use to sit hot pots or baking pans on instead of getting out a trivet or hot pad. Mine sits on the counter all the time with the plain side (the back of the board) facing up.
