Waste of Money None of the recipes in this cookbook are written for those of us whose homes are in the United States of America. The measurements, ingredients and most of the terminology is geared for the European cook. Don't waste your time or money ordering this cookbook. 04-24-11
UGH!!! Tried to make many of these recipes and they never turned out!!! So bummed with this cookbook and the recipes!!! Save your money!!!!! :( 12-07-10
Not a Good Value I thought this book was suppose to be easy recipes but it called for many different sugars, etc. that most cooks, bakers normaly do not have in thier pantry. I also bought it to go with the Brownie pan and nothing in the cookbook reffered to the pan. So I am stuck with this book as I waited too long to delve into it to bake from it and it wasn't a gift. Pictures were beautiful though. 08-01-10
Not user friendly Would have sent this back, but waited too long to look through this book. If I lived in Europe I would probably love it . Beautiful pictures. 03-06-10
Don't think so..... I ordered this for some of the more unusual bar cookie recipes because I swear by Ina Garten's Outrageous Brownie recipe. I tried 3 desserts that seemed very interesting and tasty and we're just very average tasting and definitely not "blissful". I bake quite a bit and the directions and ingredients were poorly translated for American cooks. Don't bother with this one...... 12-06-09
What ???? I agree with the other buyers about all the different sugars.. chocolates.... I also was under the impression that the recipes were for the brownie pan so I got it also...none of the recipes in the book indicates you can even use the brownie pan with them What a disappointment. 11-11-09
Not a good book I love cookbooks, not only for they recipes but for the pictures. I ordered the book and was very disappointed. It is obvious that some of the pictures that discribed the brownie was not the correct one. Also some of the ingredients were not items readily available at most neighborhood store. Very disappointed. 11-05-09
Not for me I found it not useful for me~I won't send it back but it really need to be better. 10-20-09
great recipes Okay, yes this is a UK cookbook, but the ingredients called for can be substituted for American ones. Many of the names for sugar are different here, so with a little patience if you google them, you will find their equivalents or suitable alternatives. I have quite a few great cookbooks from Europe that I would never part with. With that in mind, I would recommend this book. Each recipe comes with a beautiful picture. 10-20-09
Nice Pictures - But..... Not very practical for home bakers, without running all over to find the right ingredients and pans. QVC has better books for BROWNIES. This will be on its way back. 10-20-09
Pass on this one Can't wait for the Post Office to open tomorrow so I can return this one..like the other reviewers I'm wondering where the novice (and not so novice) baker can find some of the ingredients, and I live in an area where unusual ingredients are not too hard to find...by the way recipe #2 calls for "low fat soft cheese" do they want us to use brie or marscapone (I don't think so) or "Philly" style cream cheese"...and talk about weird pan sizes...anyway once again I've been reminded that cookbooks done in the U.K. are not always a good idea for USA kitchens. 10-18-09
user unfriendly pretty cookbook but unusual ingredients and measurements. from the UK hence the differences. wish the hosts would mention variances from the norm. 10-18-09
