Rated 1 out of 5 by AWFUL!!! All this thing did was to smash my tomato and not even get close to cutting through an onion. HATE IT-ENOUGH SAID 05-27-09
Rated 1 out of 5 by Broke second time used I find it interesting that this thing is made to slice onions and it takes a man with a lot of strength to push an onion through it, even if sliced in half first. The second time I used it, on an onion, the slicing blades, both of them, broke. Am returning. 05-15-09
Rated 3 out of 5 by wow I recieved this product last week. After reading all the reviews I was just gonna send it back without even trying it. My husband convinced me to give it a try. My 1st atempt to cut a tomato it smashed it. I soon learned if you slice a thin stip on the bottom of the food your slicing it will slice with no problem. worked great on onions. So far so good, just hope it doesn't break after my 30 days. 05-07-09
Rated 3 out of 5 by It Does Work I waited for this to come in since I had it on advanced sales. I received it on Sat. and today I finally got to try it. I read all of the reviews and was going to send it right back but deceided to try it for my self. Now remember I am 63 years old and do not have as much strenght as I use to. What I did find is that if you put it lower than the kitchen counter, you can get the leverage you need to give it the push. The only thing that I have tried is an onion (large) which I cut in half length wise and did 1/2" cuts. They came out even and was a lot easier than slicing with a knife. I will enjoy using this for many things in the kitchen. My advice is to make sure that you are above the machine. 05-04-09
Rated 1 out of 5 by Sent it back This sounded like a good idea since I've had previous versions of the dicers sold on QVC and I've loved them. Cutting wedges sounded like a good idea....not so. The housing on this cracked the first time I used it and even if that had not been a problem, the clean-up on it was a pain. I did clean it but it went back. Save your money on this one! 05-03-09
Rated 1 out of 5 by Chop Hard Do not try this on a tomato. Biggest mess you ever saw. Works on harder vegs but requires a lot of pre shaping for your produce to fit. First one we received the lower box was smashed. Only reason to keep this is the way it slices strawberries. 05-03-09
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poorly make product I saw this product when it was on air and it seemed like it would work great, BUT, I used it for the first and last time today. I used it for slicing potatoes and my husband had to do it for me because it took so much muscle to push the potato thru. I even cut them in half and he still had to use a lot of pressure to push it down, also, the blade would not stay in the container and came apart almost every time. My mother-in-law's 30 year old Veg-A-Matic works better than this slicer by far. 04-30-09
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible Purchase. If I could give a 0, I would. Was I ever disappointed in this product. The plunger would not even stay in the plastic cover, making it impossible to use. Cheaply made. I did not even get a chance to cut anything. With the plunger being so poor, I doubt the blades would hold up to anything. 04-29-09
